2005 ~ christmas reunion

it’s been 2 months since Beyond The Story 2005 Live in s’pore… de excitement from de concert still fresh in mind, everyone still keep in touch and talk abt de concert and stuffs happen during dat time… uglymen posted a very good comment on de concert at uglymen review. beyond supporters from jb and s’pore had planned a gathering on christmas eve. Chew Ling and Cuiyi play a big role on this gathering… everything was well planned, Kee willing to let me stay overnite at his place and Cuiyi will be my tour guide coz i’m not familiar with s’pore…. "thanks so much, friends"

as previous, i travel alone by bus and again, de bus driver giving me a surprise with his announcement somewhere in jb,

bus driver: "halo everyone, later we will stop at Beach Road"

myself: "excuse me, will we stop at Golden Mile? (i’ve to meet Cuiyi at Golden Mile as i promised her earlier)

bus driver: "err… nope, we’ll only stop at Beach Road"

myself: "then will we pass by Golden Mile?"

bus driver: "i’m not sure… but we’ll only stop at Beach Road"

after dat, i proceed with 2 things, 1st… i call up Cuiyi to inform her abt this… 2nd, get de s’pore map and see where is Beach Road where de map didn’t show Golden Mile. Cuiyi answered me steadily dat she will meet me at Beach Road when de driver drop me tere. de answer relieve my panic hehe… alrite, after some time, finally de bus reached s’pore and to my surprise, de bus stop at Golden Mile! de driver say "alrite! we’re here…" damn it! de road sign "Beach Road" is tere…. means Golden Mile is just located at Beach Road. dumb ass driver!

I’ve meet Cuiyi, de policeman Roy is with her… hehe.. den we heading to a cool music store nearby where i’ve bought jan lamb latest album which haven’t released in m’sia dat time. gabriel join us later on and he show me his bid from yahoo of Beyond "Goodbye Ideal" cds…. wow! dats my 1st time saw Beyond 1st released original cds…. we gotto meet others at Novena MRT station abt 6.00pm, over tere i’ve meet Casey and Roy’s gf… den we’re heading to Jade Room Restaurant for our steamboat buffet gathering…. over tere, i’ve meet more new friends…. i dunno tere’s so much ppl active in forum… (hmm ~ where r u guys coming from actually? haha) again for de 3rd time, i meet Chew Ling and her gang… this time Rambo is with her. all seems quite close oredi, different from our 1st meet in KFC, haha…..

everyone bz exchange Beyond stuffs and taking pics in de restaurant… i’ve passed christmas gift dat Chew Ling ask me to prepare in advance for her (its a Beyond book) i got alot opportunity to see some of their Beyond collections such as Beyond biography in Africa book, Beyond comic book, etc… this time, Chew Ling also do me a superb big favor by burn alot Beyond interview cds which i’ve listened all de way back from s’pore to kl in bus….. over tere, i’ve meet rocker Zhi Wei dat help me buy Sai Wing cds from overseas…. "thanks bro!"

after de buffet gathering, we’re planning to go Esplanade by bus…. we’re having drinks tere and over here i’ve meet a cool friend, haha… he’s Alex. "hey man! u are such a friendly, helpful and funny man" i want to thanks u again for helping me get de jan lamb GoodTimes album, i love it alot! den we started to exchange our christmas gift… de only one thing clear i remember well is dat, all of them got Beyond stuffs present except me! i got a soup! omg! wat is this? a soup??? "roy!!! this gift is from u or your gf???" wow! we saw some vandalism youngster spraying paint at de Esplanade and police officer catching them! haha…. i wonder why Roy didn’t take action on them… we’re having good time tere…

at nitez, myself and Rambo staying at Kee’s place…. Rambo showing his guitar skills and Kee join in. Kee very "geng", he open ka kui video clips to see how de fingering moves in playing guitar… a memorable nitez! at de next day… Cuiyi and Alex bring me for s’pore dimsum, Alex so generous, he treat us de breakfast! basically, on dat day, we’re rushing to few bookstore to look for Beyond books and i managed to get myself a Beyond guitar tabs book… its almost afternoon and i rush myself to Golden Mile by cab and head back to kl 6 hrs trip with Beyond interview records accompany me all de time….

2005

news on Beyond The Story Live 2005 concert had been doubt whether it’s going to be organised in m’sia, s’pore or even cancelled… alot Beyond supporter are worried and some are doing their best in getting more ppl signatures to boost up de confidence for organiser… myself did signed it. when de final decision confirm dat de concert will be held at s’pore indoor stadium, i know i’m going to get my ass tere for sure! this time is far abit, costly abit… so my blackdog bro can’t make it wif me. at de end, i’ve planned it with AhFook… along with Rachel. this time, i got myself involved to organise this gathering along with Chew Ling and Andrea… with few ppl helping us (BehBeh and Caroline, spread news), (Kelly, suggest de place)…. de gathering had been set at KFC nearby s’pore indoor stadium at 5.00pm, 15th oct 2005. de number of turnout was amazing, estimated more than 50 ppl… i dunno why tere’s so much ppl… hehe, but before dat, i’ve sent more than 100++ messages abt de gathering info to all Beyond supporters in friendster.

de journey to s’pore wasn’t easy… it’s a hectic day full with adventure challenges for de Kuala Lumpur team (Rachel dun laugh here, hehe) in brief, wat was happen is dat Rachel not able to make it on time due to some reason ;p AhFook de good guy wait and take de next round of bus trip with her, myself got into bus 1st, reached s’pore and ask ppl for direction, poor AhFook and Rachel left by bus driver at jb, bla..bla.. finally de KL team meet again with each other at Chinatown. we rush to KFC where i saw Kelvin de 1st person to be tere (he took bus alone from penang). actually i dunno who is he but i approach him coz he’s wearing Beyond 2003 concert tee dat time… den we intro ourselves and start to arrange table for de gathering…

everyone start coming, some in individual and some in groups. everyone is so busy chatting and intro themselves… basically our conversation is all abt Beyond.. Beyond.. Beyond and Beyond. den AhFook and i spotted a shy guy coming alone and sit at de corner, i ask AhFook "hey, u think dat guy is here for de gathering?" AhFook say, "dunno wor, mebbe yes gua" haha… so we go approach de guy. de guy intro himself "hello, i’m rambo from beyondstation"  alrite man, cool! let’s join de gathering… den de rest had arrived include Chew Ling, Kelly, BehBeh, Seok Kheng and Uglymen’s guitarist Michael and bassist Metal. i was waiting for Chew Ling to arrive all de while… coz i wanna get my Beyond The Story Live 2005 black edition tee… hehe

during this gathering, i got myself Beyond The Story Live 2005 black tee edition and also alot precious cds/vcd from Chew Ling…. "thank you, Dai Ga Jie" in de gathering, we also able to see de webcam from Winnie on arrival of Beyond at s’pore changi airport, u girls really superb! can wait for hrs at de airport for dat. everyone wanted to look at it, especially Kelvin. BehBeh come out a suggestion to write down all ppl’s email so we can contact each other again, so we all takes turn to write it down, it’s really a long list. normally, during this kind of gathering, we’ll take advantage to exchange stuffs…. i’ve pass Nao cds to BehBeh who is hardcore local underground band supporter. this round of gathering enable me to meet up alot friends such as BehBeh, Kelly and Chew Ling, we have very few chance to meet up…. but always contact through email/forum. de last person i meet in this gathering is Kee, haha… we meet him when we’re on our way to de stadium for concert, we bump into him in front KFC and he ask us "do u guys know where is Beyond concert?" haha… cool yea, den we invite him to join us together since he’s alone… i heard Kee now is close with alot Beyond supporter from s’pore and jb

soon after de concert end, we’re heading back to KFC meet some friends and we plan to have drinks some where else. after we’ve done with our drinks, we all going back to our own hotel (erm… i guess i’m staying in a motel) and i think BehBeh went for 2nd round drinks with his gang.

at de next day, AhFook, Rachel and myself plan to walk around de city before heading back kl… so we took alot pics, travel through mrt, ask direction, see ppl taking wedding pics, AhFook buy vcd for his mum, buy 7-eleven food… our trip is worth of it, and meaningful…

       

2004

it’s mid of 2004, when i was really really busy wif my superb long working hrs in ibm…. my blackdog bro, limp telling me dat Beyond will come to genting for concert. it’s a news dat i won’t believe instantly till i saw de advertisement after few months in genting website. and since after Beyond 20th Anniversary 2003 concert, a very friendly and warm heart girl had email me, she’s from johor and she got my email through beyondmusic guestbook, a friend from my own species (beyond supporter) cool! from tere we started our Beyond conversation… and i found dat she having very much passion into Beyond, a sincere Beyond supporter. alrite, enuf for de intro… de girl i’ve mentioned is Amelia a.k.a Chew Ling (Dai Ga Jie "big sis" of Beyond supporter) hehe….

in 2004, except Chew Ling…. actually tere’s another cool friend that i gotto know in circles99. he is de founder for beyond forum in circles99…. this local underground band supporter is AhFook. he is de one who organise for a Beyond supporter gathering in genting…. great! then i just spread de news to other members from different beyond forum. everything was well planned, its 3.00pm, 31st dec 2004, starbucks cafe…. i’ll be driving my blackdog bro (limp & yip) up de hill for 2nd round of Beyond concert and gathering. over tere, i meet Chew Ling for de 1st time…. "halo, i’m Ten, u are Chew Ling? nice to meet u, hehehe" without wasting any time, we arrange table, sit in a group and talk talk talk abt Beyond…. wah! my 1st impression on her…. de way she express her feeling when talk abt Beyond really superb! and she oso show me de Beyond signatures she got in cds/vcds… actually i hope can grab all de stuffs and ran away… haha!

tere’s alot ppl who attend de gathering late, i remember tere’s a group of friends from penang…. kelly was tere…. and AhFook, hey man! u are de organiser, where’s ur ass??? haha…. actually he’s de last person coming in a group of friends…. and soon after he sit a while, i remember he told me this "eiihh… i gotto go and get my concert ticket from arena stars 1st, i gotto now…. u guys enjoy" haha…. i’m wonder u still remember this, man! and that’s de reason our 2004 family picture got so few ppl….

everybody looking to each other, "hey, wat’s our next plan?" hey u guys dun stare at me… de organiser is not me ;p den everybody ask me to plan for next activities since i’m de one who spread de news on this gathering…. alrite, cool! den why dun we go back to our room to rest a while den we’ll have dinner together in mcdonalds….

my phone on dat day keep ringing coz of de call from my office "hey, where are u arr? alot works here u know?" (oh yea, i haven’t tell u guys earlier dat i just skip my work without apply leave coz i know my leave won’t be approved) my response to them, "oh shitz! i just involved in small car accident i’m in de police station now to make report la, alot ppl here la, very noisy… halo? halo?" den i hang up de call…. well, to my china mainland manager, of course it’s noisy dumb ass coz i’m at de first world hotel lobby, kekeke….. u think i’m going to sacrifice Beyond concert for works? no way u old bitch fuckz off!

oh yea! one more unwanted surprise happen is, de guy from second left at above picture called proseng…. he’s my colleague, without my knowledge he is coming to join de group of penang friends dat i invite for de gathering. and he was damn surprise to see me at arena stars entrance. our conversation as below:

Proseng: "hey, i thought u are in car accident? everyone was gossip abt u today"

Me: "ermm….u r oso Beyond supporter? u like Beyond alot?"

Proseng: "yea man"

Me: "then u shud understand why i’m here rite? hehe…. Beyond supporter must help each other rite? hehe….

Proseng: "no problem la… today i didn’t saw u, rite?

Me: "haha…. yea man! rite! btw… u know de penang friends? i contact them through beyondstation forum"

Proseng: "yea they are my friends, i’m a member in beyondstation too, my nick is anodize"

Me: "wtf? u are anodize??? shitz man! i’m anodize222…. damn it! i think we send email to each other in de same office for months"

okie….. after i’ve done wif all de crap surprise above. den i proceed into arena stars wif my blackdog bro….

just before de concert start, Beyond bowing their head down as a respect to de tsunami 2004 disaster victim….. soon after that, rock n roll! man! haha…..

it’s been a quiet days since Beyond doesn’t have any concerts/shows these days… in these few years, i’ve experienced alot memorable events which bring me so much happiness and joy. without much expectation, i’ve gained sincere and honest friends from the ring of members from various Beyond forums around de world (beyondstation, circles99, beyondforum, friendster, hi5) every gatherings that we meet, always cherish my life with some good surprise. here’s de stories begin…

2003

i remember de 1st ever gathering which organised by behbeh in esquire kitchen, sg. wang on 11th october 2003, which is also de day for Beyond 20th Anniversary Concert in Stadium Merdeka… i’m so sure dat day was my most happiest day for de whole  2003 year, perhaps my whole fuxking life.

de time was abt 11.00am, gathering should be start at 12.00pm, i thought i’m de earliest since i went out early to avoid de bad traffic….. and of course my heart is superb excited for de long waited Beyond concert since 10 yrs ago. i sit at a table alone with drinks, a guy next to my table already finish his meal, soon abt 1 hour anxious wait had passed, he come to me and ask whether i’m here for the gathering…. oh gosh! after one hour only u come to me?…. well i say," yeah man! of course! see my shirt? it’s Beyond sign of peace print of course i’m here for the gathering" without wasting any time, we sit together and start our Beyond conversation…..

then, de rest coming, one by one, some are coming in a group… ppl dat join de gathering was friendly and some of them abit shy when come to intro themselves, well as for myself, this is de 1st time i involved in such group gathering but i just didnt feel anything coz deep inside my heart, oredi full wif de excited feeling for de coming Beyond concert in few hrs later. i remember behbeh is de last person to arrived… hehe, since he come from penang, it really takes sometime. dat is de 1st time i meet him… my reaction was, "wah! so old and fat" (bro, u won’t angry wif this rite, haha) actually i’m abit close wif him in de forum coz we always talk abt Beyond and other bands. so i go intro myself and get my 1st ever Beyond tee from him through Caroline (Behbeh is de middle man)

soon after i got de Beyond tee, we’re heading to mcdonalds in jln silang, kotaraya for drinks and meal, over tere i have a good chat with them. abt 3.00 pm, we decided to walk to stadium merdeka see if we’re lucky to hear Beyond rehearsal jamming…. luck always wif me when comes to Beyond, we’re tere, and i already heard Paul singing "mou fui zhe yat sang" follow by Ka Keung singing "mou sing dik ko bit" excited??? yea man! bring it on! motherfucka i cant fuxking believe my own goddamn ear when i heard Beyond sing on live after more than 10 yrs listening to their cds/cassette….

alrite, soon after i’ve meet my blackdog clan bro (limp & yip), den we’re on de way inside de stadium merdeka, de atmosphere was juz nice! first song played on dat nite was "hoi fut tin hong" basically from here (de opening) till end of de concert, i have not much to comment….. in brief, wat was happen on dat nite is dat tears flow, my Beyond shirt was taken off, singing….

         

   

these few days…. i’ve been watching de tv program
abt Ka Kui accident during 1993, from the
moments Ka Kui was hospitalised till his death…..
it’s so much confusion of the attitudes and reaction
from BEYOND supporters who feel so much so much sad
for Ka Kui….. its more than 2,000 ppl (fully packed with de limited seats) so called
BEYOND supporters appeared in a hall after Ka
Kui passed away as a tribute to Ka Kui….. from
the video captured, almost all of them cry and
scream so loud…… de number of turn out was
amazing in the place where ppl arrived to pay their
last respect to Ka Kui, de whole street was full of
ppl just like a major election rally campaign for a
country leader….

wat actually i’m trying to say is….. all of these
BEYOND supporters, how many of them really
understand and support BEYOND or Ka Kui in a
right way/attitude??? do they really understand wat
is de purpose of BEYOND??? and the dreams of
Ka kui??? wat is de only reason for the formation of BEYOND???

BEYOND is all abt starting up a healthy "music
industry" in Hong Kong…. means de music/song
which composed/performed by "musicians" dat
understand how to respect music…. and not copy
others songs and modified it into local languages…..

Ka Kui had said this in front of media
and all Hong Kong citizens "Hong Kong only have
entertainment industry, but NOT music industry"
although BEYOND have a great impact into many
ppl to respect originality of music, but still too
many ppl who still in de state of confusion dat
mixed up commercialised music with original
music by musician which is abt quality music dat
enhanced de value of art, culture and respect of de
country of its own…..

alrite….. after wat i’ve been said….. de main
confusion/question here is….. if tere’s so many ppl
who show up to support Ka Kui, why is the local
Hong Kong music industry still a big failure???
many ppl who cried and say they will support Ka
Kui, do they actually know wat Ka Kui hope they
can do for him and the entire society of Hong
Kong??? so so much simple……

"TO SUPPORT LOCAL MUSICIANS & BANDS" and till today after
nearly 13 yrs of Ka Kui passed away…… Hong
Kong music industry still a big big failure!!!

now my question to these BEYOND supporter:
Have u done correctly wat u had promised to Ka
Kui abt 13 yrs ago???

P/S: Remember!!! Ka Kui died coz of a tv game
show…. he was killed by entertainment industry!!! if
u all so called supporter still didn’t show your
support to “musicians”…… and keep on supporting
entertainment industry which is not healthy…..
then u are only supporting the killer of Ka Kui for
nearly 13 yrs!!!
